History

The club was formed in 2011 with the aim of providing comprehensive training for our members and their dogs.

We welcomed newcomers to the world of field sports and ‘old hands’ alike, and recognise that we can all better the standard of our handling of dogs in the field.

In addition to offering gundog training, Central Scotland Gundog Club offers working tests under Kennel Club rules.

While principally for members, we are also pleased to welcome non-members to our training events, depending on availability of spaces.

The Club was formed in March 2011 and has grown rapidly and since our launch we have been committed to holding training days for various breeds and for dogs and handlers of various standards, working under experienced and respected trainers.

In our first year we held a variety of training days and activities catering for all breeds and all types of handlers, including mock tests and trials.

Cold game training and live game days shooting over your dog have taken place over the years.

We have been very fortunate in having access to tremendous training grounds in Central Scotland, Perthshire and Fife over the years with the help from members past and present who have supported the club.

Our attendees have commented on the quality of training and the grounds offered. With a firm base in developing the sport of Gundogs and being responsive to our members’ requirements, our aim is to be one of the leading clubs for delivery of training in Scotland.
